Project at a Glance

A Device was created which is capable of handling high-power extra loads in automobiles. The product can be installed inside custom special vehicles to extend connectivity with extra loads for automotive devices. Digital/numerical relays provide a front panel display or a terminal display via a communication interface. This is used to display relay settings as well as real-time current/voltage values, among other things. The device fully complies with safety regulations.

THE CHALLENGE

  • There is no separation of a low voltage circuit from a high voltage circuit.
  • Less control over multiple circuits.
  • The heavy electrical load is not supported in the Microprocessor.
  • There are no overload relays to protect the motor.

Technology Selection

After conducting extensive research on various technology stacks we decided to go with C/C++ for firmware programming and create the GUI of the product using C#. We bought controllers from Microchip. The Software Framework which we used is Atmel Software Framework (ASF). For communication we use Canbus, bluetooth, I2C, SPI, USB, HID, LIN. The Sensors which we use are pressure, temperature..

SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION

The device for a client as Digital Relay Box is created. We have designed the electronic circuit in order to make it functional. The device is capable of handling extra add-on kind of high-power loads in automobiles. The product can be installed inside the custom special vehicles like police vans, ambulances and the construction vans to extend the connectivity with extra loads like warning lights, emergency lights and power tools etc. The device complies with the safety regulations and allows the end users to fully customize the outputs through a very interactive PC software.
